House of Intent exists to make home fragrance feel beautiful and safe - with less waste and more intention. We’re not perfect, but we are deliberate. Here’s what sustainability means to us today. We are completely driven by our love for clean scents that support our health and also our beautiful English Countryside.
1. Wax & fragrance philosophy
· Plant-based wax only (no paraffin, no soy, no beeswax).
· Essential oils only as the scent foundation.
· We avoid unnecessary additives and aim for clean, transparent formulations.
2. UK & EU supply chain
Wherever possible, we source materials from UK and EU suppliers to reduce supply chain distance and to work within robust regulatory standards.
· Vegan plant based Wax sourced from UK/EU suppliers only.
· We prioritise suppliers who can evidence compliance, quality testing and responsible manufacturing – eg GMO free, sustainable, cruelty free, vegan.
3. Packaging (no plastic by design)
· Candle jars are recyclable glass. Please rinse and recycle according to your local council guidance.
· We use minimal packaging and avoid plastic completely
· We prioritise recyclable paper/cardboard and avoid hard-to-recycle mixed materials where we can.
· We ship orders without plastic fillers and use paper-based protection instead.
4. Reuse & second life
We love jars that live a second life. Many customers reuse them as cotton pad holders, bud vases, pen pots, or kitchen storage. If we introduce refills, we’ll publish the details here.
5. What we’re improving next
· Increasing recycled content across packaging components.
· Reducing packaging weight while maintaining safe transit.
· Expanding reuse initiatives as the business grows.
